Focus:
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for protein products, ensuring alignment with forecasted demand and minimizing losses.
• Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and service while upholding company policies.
• Optimize inventory levels to achieve targeted turnover, maintain high service levels, and minimize waste.
• Analyze market trends and acquisition costs to forecast future needs and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes and drive operational excellence.
• Resolve billing and inventory discrepancies, ensuring accurate pricing and invoicing.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess program implementation and gather valuable feedback.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in food procurement, with a strong focus on proteins
• Strong contract negotiation skills
• In-depth knowledge of USDA and Urner Barry market reports, as well as the agricultural and protein markets
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
