A group created to educate, connect, and empower the women of Blue Signal.
To promote education, connection, and empowerment for women (and those who support women) and their contributions to the broader goals of Blue Signal… and beyond!
What We Do
In our BSS WOW meetings, team members of all gender identities come together to discuss gendered language and its impact on how we understand and represent the workforce overall. We cover complex topics like diversity and inclusion, biases, intersectionality, discrimination, and privilege - examining how each of these factors can play a role in the workplace.
Through these idea shares and learning segments, we have optimized our industry practices surrounding how we address candidates and clients in communications, how we write our job ads, and how we talk about the professional marketplace at large.
Blue Signal refers all candidates on the basis of qualifications rather than age, sex, creed, color, nationality, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or ability. Blue Signal complies with EEO, ADA and all other applicable laws and regulations, including state employment laws.
In 2021, BSS WOW was able to certify 20 Blue Signalers in a LinkedIn course called “Women Helping Women Succeed in the Workplace.” With actions like this, we are working to constantly continue our education on best practices for supporting candidates on their career paths, and on ways to best foster success within our clients’ teams.
Since 2020, Blue Signal has been supporting Live and Learn AZ in its mission to empower women in the Phoenix metro area to break the cycle of generational poverty. Leveraging our recruiting knowledge, BSS WOW has supported dozens of women through the resume writing process, renewing their confidence in their job hunt, and empowering them with the tools needed to take on the job market!
