An innovative technology firm renowned for designing and manufacturing advanced safety and monitoring systems is seeking a skilled Validation Engineer. This role is vital in ensuring the functionality and performance of cutting-edge products used in public safety, defense, and other high-impact environments. As part of a collaborative and dynamic engineering team, this person will design, execute, and refine system-level validation plans across environmental, mechanical, and electrical domains.
This role is based onsite at a state-of-the-art engineering and testing center in the North Phoenix area, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of mission-driven hardware solutions with real-world application.
This Role Offers:
Competitive salary and annual bonus eligibility.
Equity incentives with multi-year vesting options.
Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision plans.
401(k) plan with company match.
Inclusive culture and resource groups supporting professional development.
Focus:
Develop and execute comprehensive validation test plans across new product and sustaining engineering projects.
Analyze engineering requirements to design repeatable, scalable validation procedures that meet internal standards and external compliance needs.
Perform hands-on testing in lab and field environments (e.g., drop tests, environmental stress testing, electrical functionality).
Troubleshoot firmware, hardware, and integrated systems issues with a cross-disciplinary team.
Partner with cross-functional teams—including mechanical, electrical, software, and quality engineering—to investigate test anomalies, identify underlying issues, and implement effective corrective measures.
Generate detailed technical reports summarizing test plans, methodologies, results, and engineering feedback.
Coordinate with external testing labs to fulfill compliance and certification protocols.
Drive continuous improvements in testing strategy and lab practices (e.g., implement 5S standards).
Contribute to product release readiness by ensuring final systems meet durability, environmental, and usability criteria.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
2 to 5 years of direct experience conducting validation or end-to-end hardware testing in a product development setting.
Proven track record designing test cases and interpreting test results for complex hardware systems.
Proficiency in troubleshooting embedded systems (both hardware and firmware-related).
Familiarity with CAD models and manufacturing processes.
Working knowledge of DFMEA practices and statistical test analysis.
Exposure to validation environments involving voltage, current, temperature cycling, humidity, rain, and mechanical stress.
Comfortable presenting findings and test justifications to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with Jira or similar tools for bug tracking and test management is a plus.
Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is an asset, but not required.
Preferred Experience:
Background in product validation for regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing.
Hands-on work with environmental testing chambers, electrical equipment, and validation fixtures.
Knowledge of new product introduction (NPI) processes and experience ensuring final quality before mass production release.
