The Staff Accountant will be integral in safeguarding the financial health and accuracy of the organization. This role demands a meticulous professional with substantial accounting expertise, a thorough understanding of financial standards, and strong analytical capabilities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with cross-functional teams to offer financial insights, ensure adherence to accounting standards, and support the overall objectives of the finance department.

Focus:

Compile and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data in alignment with GAAP and internal policies.

Oversee daily treasury reporting and other routine financial tasks.

Manage the general ledger and maintain the chart of accounts.

Perform reconciliations of complex accounts, promptly addressing any discrepancies.

Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.

Track budget deviations and provide relevant insights to leadership.

Support external auditors during yearly audits, including financial and non-financial audits such as 401K and workers’ compensation.

Develop audit schedules and facilitate the timely completion of audit requirements.

Identify areas for process enhancement and implement best practices.

Streamline accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Keep abreast of updates in accounting regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets.

Collaborate with various departments, including divisional controllers, to offer financial insights and support informed decision-making.

Partner with the finance team on strategic projects and initiatives.

Coordinate with accounts payable and receivable personnel.

Skill Set:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.

3-5 years of experience in a Senior Staff Accountant role or equivalent in either industry or public accounting.

Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

Capacity to work autonomously, meet stringent deadlines, and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Experience with sales and use tax, 401K administration, and payroll processing.
