Our client is a leading wireless/wireline solutions and testing provider for mobile infrastructure, IP networks, and public safety. Their solutions involving GSM, LTE, UMTS, RF/DAS, GPS, embedded IoT technology, AI, and applications support their commercial and private customers. They are hiring a Senior Software Support Engineer to provide technical support to internal developers and engineers, software customers, and other end-users.
The Senior Software Support Engineer conducts real-world testing and post-processing data analysis as part of the customer support workflow. This engineer supports troubleshooting and design/implementation efforts to resolve technical issues. With the support of a large team of engineers and product managers, this person will provide critical product feedback on industry-disrupting wireline and wireless solutions.

Focus:
• Provide technical support to several users – primarily field engineering teams, customer engineers and post-sales teams. Train all end-users on new features.
• Open troubleshooting tickets and investigate technical issues remotely and on-site.
• Conduct real-world performance testing on a range of wireless solutions, including LTE, DAS, Small Cell, public sector applications, cellular networks, and more.
• Use specialized RF test and measurement equipment (e.g. spectrum analyzer, noise figure analyzer, network analyzer) in the course of troubleshooting customer issues.
• Analyze post-processing data to identity root cause.
• Maintain coding and security standards across multiple projects.
• Complete test cases in lab and field settings, documenting test results and providing feedback.
• Document product defects and work with product engineering team to recreate issues and develop resolutions.
Skill Set:
• 10+ years in software engineering, wireless networks, and wireline solutions. Strong focus on testing, troubleshooting, and optimization. Experience in pre and post-sales support.
• Knowledge or experience with wireless standards, network, and communication protocols (CDMA, WCDA, UMTS, LTE, IMS, SMS, RIL, TCP/IP, Vo/IP).
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and development, Windows operating system as well as Mobile operating systems (such as Apple iOS or Android) and their associated software development kits.
• Scripting and programming experience with C/C++, Python, UX/UI applications, and other tools a plus.
• Experience in customer-facing roles, especially for technical support.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering. Master’s preferred.
• Strong competence in wireless software and cellular network technology, including:
• 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE
• Networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, IP switches, and OSI reference model
• Linux development
• CDMA/WCDMA, EVDO
• RAN
• RF equipment
• Hands-on experience with security tools, routing/switching, and IP networking.
• Methodical approach to systems testing, with the ability to design comprehensive process-oriented test scenarios.
• Must be able to gain Top Secret Security Clearance – ISA.
