Senior Payroll Accountant

They are on the hunt for a dedicated and experienced Senior Payroll Accountant to join their finance team. This pivotal role encompasses handling in-house, multi-state payroll processes for approximately 4000 employees, coordinating insurance liabilities, and conducting financial report reconciliations.

Focus:
• Lead the processing of multi-state payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
• Manage payroll reconciliation, insurance payments estimation, and liabilities.
• Generate regular financial reports including weekly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and enhance current procedures.
• Supervise and mentor payroll assistant staff.
• Oversee transitions such as employee promotions, transfers, and terminations.
• Administer benefits, including COBRA, Sick Leave, PTO accruals, and policy formulation.
• Ensure payroll taxes are accurately recorded and remitted in collaboration with a third-party service.
• Drive special projects that contribute to the finance team’s objectives.
Skill Set:
• An Accounting or related degree.
• Extensive experience in payroll accounting, preferably in the hospitality sector.
• Knowledgeable in fixed assets management, including coding, reconciliation, and invoicing.
• Proficient in bank reconciliation and handling high volumes of credit card/banking transactions.
• Capable of supporting AP automation projects.
• Experience in closing monthly and yearly financial books, including audit preparations.
• Strong attention to detail for reviewing invoices and reconciliation tasks.
• Familiarity with Sage, Epicor (accounting software), and PDS (Payroll).
• Expertise in general ledger, accounts payable, and fixed asset software processes is crucial.
