As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring compliance with financial standards. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting, preferably within nonprofit organizations, and experience in grants management and audit processes.

Focus:
• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Participate in the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Manage and monitor organizational grants, including tracking expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Provide financial analysis and support for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial needs and initiatives.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit organization.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Proven experience in managing audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Extensive experience in grants management, including tracking, reporting, and compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity and commitment to the organization’s mission.
