As part of their ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation, they are seeking a Satellite Systems Technical Support Engineer to join their team.

This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities but requires a highly technical individual to provide expert support to personnel dealing with fault diagnosis, system troubleshooting, and repairs related to Gateway systems. The position involves hands-on work with various communication systems and subsystems, including the first and second generations of equipment, and requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule.

Focus:

Deliver technical guidance and support to the gateway operations team for system fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair, focusing on satellite communication equipment and systems.

Provide engineering solutions within a data/telecommunications network environment, ensuring proper network timing and synchronization.

Continuously analyze processes and implement automation to improve system efficiency.

Create and maintain system documentation, including technical guides, bulletins, and recommended operational procedures.

Manage configuration updates such as adding new network capacities for radio, trunk, internet, or PSTN systems.

Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of additional peripheral systems as required.

Contribute to the development and implementation of technical training programs for team members.

Work closely with service level agreement (SLA) teams to identify and resolve issues that may impact customer experience.

Skill Set:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.

Minimum 3 years of experience in satellite communications or wireless communications systems, with a strong emphasis on GPS-sourced NTP timing and synchronization.

Experience designing and troubleshooting network and timing systems in mission-critical production environments.

Certifications or additional industry training are advantageous.

Familiarity with tools like Grafana, JIRA, or similar platforms is beneficial.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for short-to-medium-term assignments (valid passport required).

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on procedural documentation.

The ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively engage with both senior management and technical teams.

Knowledge of networking and security best practices, particularly within a satellite communications environment.

Experience with automated scripting languages, data analysis tools (such as Power BI), and cloud platforms like AWS is an advantage.
