Residential Landscape Lighting Designer

Focus:

Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements, preferences, and budgets. Conduct thorough site assessments, evaluating existing features, architectural elements, and natural surroundings. Develop customized lighting plans that highlight key features, create desired ambiance, and ensure a harmonious balance. Specify high-quality fixtures that meet lighting requirements, budget, and project aesthetic. Stay current with the latest lighting technology, energy-efficient solutions, and control systems to offer cutting-edge options. Work closely with installation teams to maintain design integrity and project timelines. Prepare comprehensive project documents, including lighting plans, fixture schedules, and specifications. Collaborate with internal teams seeking product knowledge and technical expertise. Achieve or exceed sales goals through your design efforts. Travel for project design meetings and site visits within designated regions.

Skill Set:

5+ years of experience in landscape lighting design, specifically in high-end residential projects; sales experience a strong plus. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Engineering, Lighting Design, or related discipline. Ability to use software tools to produce architectural drawings, such as AutoCAD. Working knowledge of lighting calculation software such as AGI32, Dialux, or similar a plus. Deep understanding of electrical systems, lighting technologies, and control systems relevant to outdoor applications. Strong knowledge of industry trends and protocols. Demonstrated experience creating lighting plans/schedules/specifications. Adept at explaining design and technical information to diverse audiences. Excellent organization, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective cross collaboration.
Compensation Range: $70K-$100K
