Focus:
Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the prescribed plan, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.
Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators, while following applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
Monitor patient comfort, safety, and response to treatment throughout each session, providing clear instructions and emotional support.
Maintain accurate treatment records, including dose calculations, patient positioning, and treatment outcomes.
Collaborate with the radiation oncology team, including physicians, medical physicists, and nurses, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Stay current with advancements in radiation therapy techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to radiation therapy.
Skill Set:
Completion of a formal training program in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
Must hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy and possess a state radiation therapy license where applicable.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a clinical setting.
In-depth knowledge of radiation therapy techniques, safety standards, and treatment planning.
A commitment to patient-centered care, ensuring a compassionate approach during all interactions.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
