An established law firm is seeking a dedicated Plaintiff Employment Associate to advocate for individuals in employment and civil rights cases. The ideal candidate will manage cases through all stages of litigation, including trial, making a significant impact both in and out of the courtroom. Focus:
• Independently manage a caseload from intake through trial and appeals as needed.
• Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other court documents for state and federal proceedings.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including drafting requests, conducting depositions, and preparing expert witnesses.
• Maintain proactive and compassionate communication with clients, aligning case goals with client needs.
• Confidently represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
• Engage in settlement negotiations, advocating for clients’ best interests and achieving favorable outcomes.
• Develop and implement effective legal strategies based on a deep understanding of client objectives and employment laws.
• Ensure meticulous attention to detail in all legal documentation and case management tasks.
Skill Set:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar.
• 1-3 years of litigation experience; experience in employment and civil rights law is preferred.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong oral advocacy skills with confident courtroom presence.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, maintaining a client-focused and empathetic approach.
• Ability to work independently with initiative and thrive in a small, dynamic firm setting.
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of tasks while meeting strict deadlines.
• Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with adaptability and resilience in challenging situations.
• Genuine commitment to plaintiff-side employment law and advancing civil rights.
