Our client is seeking a seasoned Mill Manager to oversee operations at their steel mill facility. This leadership role is pivotal to ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and meeting customer demands. The successful applicant will possess a deep background in steel production operations and leadership, a keen grasp of regulatory requirements, and exceptional skills in guiding high-performing teams through dynamic situations.

Focus:
• Manage daily operations of the steel mill, focusing on Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) production.
• Ensure compliance with API 5CT and 5L standards, maintaining high-quality production output.
• Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure adequate raw material and product availability.
• Monitor production schedules to meet customer deadlines, including during nights, weekends, or holidays if required.
• Develop and oversee proactive equipment servicing plans to optimize uptime, reduce unplanned stoppages, and maintain a safe working environment.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to create reports, manage schedules, and analyze production data.
• Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Supervise and train team members, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence.
Skill Set:
• 5+ years of proven leadership experience in steel production management (ERW) or a closely aligned field.
• In-depth knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) specifications for casing and tubing (5CT) and line pipe (5L).
• Minimum Education requirement: high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: specialized training, degree, or industry certifications that enhance relevant skills and expertise.
• Strong technical skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Familiarity with automated inventory control systems is highly desirable.
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to facilitate communication with diverse teams and clients.
• Strong organizational skills, with the flexibility to adapt to customer demands and fluctuating production schedules.
• Transformational leadership abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to inspire, empower, and guide cross-functional teams toward achieving exceptional results.
• Exceptional analytical and diagnostic capabilities, enabling swift identification and resolution of complex equipment malfunctions or operational inefficiencies.
