The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is a strategic leadership role within the finance team, responsible for shaping the company’s financial direction. This role demands an experienced professional with a strong background in financial planning and analysis, ideally within the retail or fashion industries. The Director will lead the FP&A team, provide insights into senior management, and support key business decisions. Collaboration across departments and mentorship of team members are essential to ensure alignment of financial goals and foster a high-performance culture.

Focus:

Lead the FP&A team in the formulation and execution of the financial planning cycle, encompassing annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.

Offer strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership, facilitating informed decision-making and fostering company expansion.

Analyze and interpret financial and operational data to pinpoint trends, risks, and opportunities.

Develop and sustain financial models that support strategic initiatives and assess potential business ventures.

Prepare a Monthly Reporting Package, featuring variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the executive team.

Create engaging presentations for key stakeholders.

Collaborate across departments to ensure coherence in financial goals and objectives.

Mentor and manage a team of FP&A professionals, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Spearhead the implementation and enhancement of FP&A tools and systems to boost reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Provide support for ad-hoc projects and analyses as required.

Skill Set:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA is preferred.

8-10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or similar roles.

Strong grasp of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on detail.

Proven ability to convey complex financial information clearly and succinctly to senior management and stakeholders.

Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with advanced Excel, financial modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly desirable.

Familiarity with forecasting software; previous experience with Anaplan is a plus.

Expertise in maintaining and updating complex financial models and KPI trackers, with the capability to build detailed models from scratch.

Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with a record of building and developing high-performing teams.

Experience in the retail or fashion industry is advantageous.

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.

Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
