Fire Alarm Technician 4

They are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to lead and oversee the installation and upgrading of fire alarm systems. This role involves serving as a technical expert in system programming, configuration, and troubleshooting, ensuring all systems are installed and maintained in accordance with regulatory standards.

Focus:
Conduct comprehensive testing and inspection of fire alarm systems following NFPA and local code requirements, identifying and reporting any deficiencies.
Perform functional testing of all system components, including Initiating Devices, Notification Appliances, and peripherals.
Communicate system performance issues to clients and internal teams, aiding in the preparation of accurate repair quotes.
Generate detailed inspection and service reports promptly.
Assess and order necessary materials for system repairs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with building owners, managers, and other key stakeholders.
Execute all tasks required to successfully complete projects on time and within budget.
Respond to service calls, diagnose system issues, and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure compliance.
Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
Manage and maintain inventory of tools and materials.
Pursue and uphold industry certifications, while continuously enhancing technical and customer service skills with company support.
Skill Set:
Proficiency with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and Bluebeam
Skilled in battery sizing and voltage drop calculations
Experience with Silent Knight FA programming software and keypad programming for various Fire Alarm Systems
Minimum of 10 years of experience in fire alarm systems or
2-year technology degree with 8 years of relevant experience
High School Diploma required
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain security clearances (HSPD & Secret preferred; active HSPD-12 & Secret clearance is a plus)
NICET Level II in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems
ICC/NAFED Certified Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician (or equivalent)
Additional NICET certifications are advantageous
