Focus:
• Lead efforts to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, focusing on air quality, waste management, and water systems.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental programs in alignment with company policies and applicable regulatory standards.
• Conduct environmental audits, inspections, and assessments; collaborate with internal teams and regulatory agencies to resolve compliance issues.
• Provide expert advice on environmental permits and regulatory requirements; lead permitting processes, including air and Title V permits.
• Serve as a key liaison with regulatory agencies, addressing compliance concerns and reporting as required.
• Develop and deliver environmental training programs for employees and contractors, ensuring a well-informed workforce.
• Coordinate root cause analyses, identify compliance gaps, and lead efforts to reduce environmental risks.
• Oversee environmental performance metrics and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports.
• Lead incident investigations and support continuous improvement efforts related to environmental health and safety.
• Participate in project planning to ensure environmental considerations are addressed during project development and operational changes.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive environmental experience in industrial or manufacturing settings, with proven knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting (especially air), and compliance management.
• Demonstrated expertise in working with Title V permits, RMP requirements, and interfacing with federal and state regulatory agencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating regulatory requirements into actionable plans that operations teams can implement.
• Proven ability to drive environmental initiatives, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective measures.
• Proficient with standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), environmental databases, and reporting tools.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, which may include variable indoor/outdoor conditions, climbing stairs/ladders, and wearing PPE as required.
• Motivated self-starter with strategic thinking abilities, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and ensuring alignment with organizational environmental goals.
