Our client is a leading manufacturer of building materials, offering top-of-the-line structural products. To maintain their success, they focus on product quality and product availability. They are currently seeking a Senior Payroll Manager to join their dynamic team and contribute to their ongoing success.
The Senior Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the multi-jurisdictional Payroll Department to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and payroll tax obligations.

Focus:
• Manage and lead a team of payroll within multiple locations around US and Canada.
• Oversee payroll processes, including new hires, transfers, wage changes, timekeeping, and terminations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Evaluate current payroll procedures and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing automation and efficiency measures.
• Monitor payroll-related benefit programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, HR, and Finance to communicate legislative updates and implement strategic changes.
• Provide leadership in evaluating department performance, conducting reviews, and implementing personnel actions as needed.
• Travel as necessary for project-based needs and regular visits to employee locations.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or related discipline. CPP designation preferred.
• 8+ years of payroll experience in the US, including at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of ADP Workforce and UKG WFN/Dimensions timekeeping systems.
• Strong understanding of US multi-state payroll legislation and familiarity with Canadian payroll practices.
• Ability to manage conflicting personalities within the team and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Experience in evaluating and implementing payroll software and process improvements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Travel to customer locations for follow-up, presentations, or demonstrations as needed.
