CPG Procurement Specialist
Our client, a leading consumer packaged goods company, is seeking a CPG Procurement Specialist to join their strategic sourcing team. This role is crucial in managing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and finished products across various consumer goods categories. The CPG Procurement Specialist will play a key role in optimizing the supply chain, ensuring product quality, and driving cost efficiencies.

Focus:
Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and finished products for various CPG categories (e.g., food, beverages, personal care, household products).
Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and pricing in the CPG industry to inform purchasing strategies.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and sustainability standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and manufacturing to align procurement strategies with product development and business goals.
Manage supplier relationships and performance, conducting regular evaluations and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Implement and maintain sustainable and ethical sourcing practices in line with company values and industry standards.
Utilize advanced procurement analytics and tools to optimize spending, forecast demand, and manage risk.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the procurement process.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and supply chain efficiency.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM) is a plus.
1-4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the CPG industry.
Strong understanding of CPG categories, production processes, and industry trends.
Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and value creation.
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.
Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of interfacing with senior management.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in contract management and supplier performance tracking.
Adaptable and innovative thinker, able to navigate the rapidly changing CPG landscape.
Knowledge of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices in the CPG industry.
