Automation Technician
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the packaging industry, is looking for a dedicated Automation Technician to join their team. This hands-on role will focus on maintaining and optimizing automation systems across production lines, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality results. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation within the packaging or plastics industry, with a strong understanding of robotics, vision systems, and quality control processes.
Our client will consider relocation for this role and is for the first shift.
This is an hourly position with opportunities for overtime.

Focus:
Maintain and troubleshoot automated machinery and systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
Perform regular preventive maintenance and adjustments to optimize automated equipment performance.
Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance automation processes, focusing on improved efficiency and reduced operational costs.
Ensure automation systems meet high standards for quality and performance, adhering to validation and operational requirements.
Assist in the installation and setup of new automation technologies, including robotics and vision systems.
Record maintenance and service activities in the maintenance management system, ensuring accurate documentation.
Troubleshoot automation issues, performing root-cause analysis and providing solutions to avoid future problems.
Train and assist production teams in the proper use and care of automated equipment.
Skill Set:
3+ years in automation, ideally within the packaging or plastics industry, with a solid understanding of quality standards and validation requirements.
Strong knowledge of automation systems, robotics, vision systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Visual Basic, C++, or Java, and basic understanding of electronics.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows OS, spreadsheet design, and photo editing software.
Associate’s degree in Automation Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Reliable, independent worker with a strong attendance record and ability to manage tasks effectively.
Excellent analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis and efficient resolution of automation issues.
Preferred experience with the installation, maintenance, and optimization of robotics and vision systems.
