Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement deep learning models to analyze remote sensing imagery for tasks such as object detection, semantic segmentation, and environmental change tracking
• Process a variety of imaging modalities including multispectral, hyperspectral, EO/IR, and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) datasets
• Create scalable pipelines for data ingestion, preprocessing, labeling, and model training tailored to satellite and aerial inputs
• Integrate geospatial data sources with AI-driven outputs to deliver operational insights across industries
• Collaborate with GIS specialists, data scientists, and application developers in the design and deployment of complete geospatial AI solutions
• Support field evaluations, model tuning, and optimization for real-world performance
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Computer Science, Remote Sensing, AI, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience applying deep learning models to geospatial datasets
• Hands-on experience with Python and deep learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
• In-depth knowledge of image segmentation and detection models (e.g., U-Net, DeepLab, Mask R-CNN)
• Experience using geospatial libraries and data formats like GDAL, rasterio, GeoTIFF, or QGIS
Preferred Skills
• Experience with GIS tools and spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, ArcGIS)
• Background supporting national security, defense, or environmental programs
• Familiarity with cloud-based geospatial platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Google Earth Engine)
• Eligibility for security clearance highly desirable
