About the Role:
Join a pioneering tech team on a mission to revolutionize how humans and robots work together. We’re seeking a forward-thinking robotics specialist to shape intuitive, intelligent systems that enable people to interact with machines as naturally as they do with one another. With a strong focus on AI integration, multimodal perception, and user-centric design, this role is perfect for someone eager to make real-world impacts in next-generation automation, collaborative robotics, and responsive machines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement intuitive robotic interaction systems using multimodal inputs (speech, gesture, UI).
• Apply natural language processing (NLP) for interpreting commands and developing interactive dialogue systems.
• Integrate perception inputs such as computer vision, audio, and proximity sensing into unified interaction models.
• Build predictive algorithms to anticipate user intent and improve collaborative performance.
• Prioritize user safety, ergonomics, and real-time responsiveness in shared spaces with robots.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across AI, embedded systems, and motion control to deliver interactive functionality.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Robotics, Cognitive Systems, HCI, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience building interactive or autonomous systems involving real-world users.
• Hands-on experience with NLP or computer vision frameworks (e.g., spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, OpenCV, MediaPipe).
• Strong coding skills in Python and C++, with exposure to real-time systems.
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and experience deploying code on physical robots.
Preferred Expertise:
• Background in adaptive interfaces, user intent prediction, or affective computing.
• Experience with proxemic safety, ergonomic planning, or human-aware robot motion.
• Familiarity with usability testing frameworks, user studies, or cognitive load evaluation.
• Previous work with collaborative robots (cobots), assistive technology, or service robotics.
What’s in it for You:
• Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
• Work with cutting-edge robotic platforms in a collaborative, innovation-first environment.
• Flexible hybrid setup in a vibrant tech hub just outside Vancouver.
• Access to modern testing environments, real users, and diverse sensor-rich platforms.
• Join a passionate team making real-world contributions to the future of human-robot collaboration.
