Accountant II
Our client is a prominent global organization in the materials industry, known for its extensive portfolio of valuable assets and significant reserves. With expansive territories in both North and South America, our client is a key player in the industry.
Our client is currently seeking an experienced Accountant II to join their dynamic team. As an Accountant II, you will have the opportunity to work remotely for a large portion of your time, with occasional visits to headquarters or client locations. We actively support remote work and will provide relocation assistance if the position transitions to full-time in-office in the future (based on eligibility).
Focus:
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Technical Accounting Support: Provide support in resolving complex accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and financial instrument accounting. Support the month and year-end close process by applying accounting policies to journal entries, conducting research, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. GAAP Compliance: Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure the organization’s accounting practices remain compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits and reviews. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and systems, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Finance, Tax, and Operations, to address accounting-related inquiries and facilitate interdepartmental projects. Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff on technical accounting matters, fostering continuous learning and skill development.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting roles, with exposure to technical accounting. Experience in the resource extraction or manufacturing sectors is advantageous. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including US GAAP and IFRS. Ability to analyze complex accounting issues and provide practical solutions. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
