Network Engineer (Office Based)
Location: On-site in DFW Metro Area 4–5 days/week, with 1-day WFH flexibility
Industry: Fiber Internet, Wireless, & VoIP
Seniority Level: Mid-Level
A growing regional telecom and managed services provider is expanding its core network engineering team and looking for a hands-on, highly motivated Network Engineer. Supporting a dynamic mix of fiber, wireless, and voice infrastructure, this role offers unparalleled technical exposure in a fast-paced, small-team setting.
In this office-based position, you’ll act as the right-hand to the Lead Network Engineer, helping manage internal and customer-facing network operations. Ideal candidates will bring experience in ISP or MSP environments and thrive in cross-functional roles spanning engineering, support, and planning. This is an exceptional opportunity to accelerate your technical growth and make a meaningful impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
• Partner closely with senior network leadership to optimize day-to-day operations of fiber and wireless networks.
• Support VPN setup and monitoring, IP subnetting, VLAN and STP configuration, and DNS management.
• Engage in VoIP systems setup and troubleshooting (SIP/voice telephony).
• Collaborate on network upgrades, hardware migrations (e.g., Ubiquiti to MikroTik), and configuration improvements.
• Use tools like Cambium CN Heat and Google Earth to map and plan network builds.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues from field technicians and customer service.
• Maintain documentation, and reinforce network security, stability, and reliability best practices.
Skills & Experience:
• 3–7 years of hands-on network engineering experience, preferably in an ISP, telecom, or MSP setting.
• Strong technical foundation in subnetting, IP tables, VLAN/STP protocols, router/firewall programming, and DNS/WiFi.
• Familiarity with fiber testing/splicing and VoIP systems preferred.
• Exposure to MikroTik and Ubiquiti environments a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills across wired and wireless infrastructure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills—comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams.
• Driven, coachable, and energized by fast-moving, team-oriented environments.
Why You Should Apply:
• Unique Role Design: Work closely with senior engineering leadership in a hybrid planning and support capacity.
• Accelerated Growth: Broaden your exposure across fiber, wireless, VoIP, switching, and projects faster than typical roles at larger ISPs.
• Culture-First Team: Fun, highly collaborative group committed to integrity, humility, and excellence.
• Competitive Package: Strong base salary plus BCBS health coverage, dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and career growth opportunities.
