Our client is looking for a Frozen Foods Buyer. The Frozen Foods Buyer will be responsible for the procurement, negotiation, and management of frozen food products, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This position requires a solid understanding of the frozen food market, robust analytical skills, and strong supplier relationship management. This role is critical in maintaining the efficiency and growth of the company’s frozen grocery segment.

Focus:

• Manage the purchasing process for frozen food items in line with company policies and goals.
• Work closely with internal teams such as merchandising, logistics, and quality assurance to accurately forecast demand and ensure the timely procurement of required products.
• Engage in negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Assess supplier performance to enhance cost efficiency and recommend improvements in the procurement process.
• Keep detailed records of procurement activities including orders, contracts, and communication with suppliers.
• Monitor market trends and updates in the frozen food industry to make informed buying decisions and anticipate shifts in supply and demand.
• Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate invoicing, resolve payment discrepancies, and maintain fiscal discipline.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards concerning food safety and quality in the frozen foods sector.

Skill Set:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Proven track record in procurement, specifically within the frozen food or grocery retail sectors.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive business objectives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and procurement systems.
