Key Impact Areas

• Produce and revise one-line, three-line, wiring, and layout drawings for substation, protection & control, and distribution automation projects.
• Translate engineer mark-ups into clear, accurate CAD files that meet internal and client standards.
• Maintain electronic drawing sets from kickoff through as-built delivery, tracking versions and approvals.
• Coordinate daily with project managers, relay engineers, and fellow drafters to align on scope, schedule, and material call-outs.
• Check in/out drawings through a common data environment (AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise) and enforce QA/QC processes.
• Compile bill-of-material details, cable schedules, and naming conventions to support procurement and field crews.
• Troubleshoot redlines, resolve clashes, and recommend design optimizations that cut build time and cost.

What You Bring

• 7 + years of drafting experience on high-voltage utility or heavy-industrial projects.
• Advanced user of AutoCAD and Bentley MicroStation; working knowledge of ProjectWise.
• Associate’s degree (or higher) in CAD Technology, Drafting & Design, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar.
• Proven ability to read protection diagrams, equipment specs, and construction drawings for substations, switchyards, or transmission lines.
• Strong file-management discipline plus detail-oriented communication skills in a dispersed team setting.
