They’re seeking a talented Senior Formulation Scientist to join our dynamic team and drive innovation in the Over the Counter (OTC) pharmaceutical and supplement markets.
The Senior Formulation Scientist will play a pivotal role in designing and developing novel confectionary-based OTC drug and supplement products. This position requires a creative and methodical approach to formulation development, leveraging scientific expertise to create robust formulations that meet consumer needs and market demands.

Focus:
• Research and identify new ingredients and technologies to enhance product offerings in the confectionary OTC and supplement markets.
• Translate consumer needs into actionable product formulations, ensuring alignment with market trends and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct experiments and analyze data to evaluate product attributes such as texture, moisture, pH, and color, contributing to the development of comprehensive data packages.
• Implement Design of Experiments to assess critical attributes of ingredients, products, and processes, providing sound technical recommendations for product enhancement.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with external industry leaders and internal stakeholders to drive innovation and explore new opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality assurance, procurement, supply chain, and manufacturing to address challenges and optimize product development processes.
• Maintain the Development Laboratory’s operational efficiency by managing equipment, ordering supplies, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Stay updated on scientific trends and market insights by engaging with suppliers, participating in continuing education programs, and sharing knowledge within the organization.
• Mentor junior scientists and peers, fostering a culture of learning and best practices within the team.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. Master’s degree is preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in formulation or product development of OTC, Dietary Supplement, or food products.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques for interpreting complex data and driving actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and innovation in problem-solving and product development.
• Familiarity with cGMP, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and project management principles.
• Working knowledge of confectionary manufacturing processes, ingredients, and product scale-up activities.
• Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as the FDA and NSF, and experience in developing oral drug products under US monograph or NDA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant software applications, including statistical software tools (e.g., Minitab, Stat Graphics) for data analysis.
