Director of Field Operations – Fiber Construction
A nationally recognized leader in broadband infrastructure is seeking a seasoned field operations expert to spearhead regional construction initiatives across key states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. This organization is fueling connectivity for underserved communities and enterprise markets alike, powered by a vision of scalable growth and a boots-on-the-ground leadership culture.
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone with a deep foundation in field operations, a strong track record leading multi-crew fiber construction, and a desire to build and mentor a next-generation workforce. If you’re passionate about broadband deployment, thrive in the field, and want to leave a lasting impact, this role is for you.
This Role Offers:
Be a cornerstone leader in a growing regional hub with national visibility.
Join a mission-driven company where your field expertise and crew leadership will directly shape outcomes and success.
Competitive compensation with flexibility on relocation for candidates with personal ties to the region.
A culture that values grit, trust, and long-term mentorship—particularly as legacy leaders transition and new ones rise.
Focus:
Lead all regional construction operations related to aerial and underground fiber deployments.
Oversee a growing team of 6–8 field managers and up to 30 crews across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia, and New York.
Drive on-site excellence by serving as a technical leader and mentor, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety across projects.
Support recruiting, training, and scaling of both internal and subcontractor crews using your industry network.
Collaborate closely with executive leadership to shape regional strategy, optimize field operations, and prepare for national project expansion.
Foster a performance-based culture of safety, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship.
Skill Set:
7+ years of progressive experience in telecom or utility field construction, ideally with direct exposure to both aerial and underground fiber builds.
Prior hands-on field experience such as lineman, foreman, or crew supervisor—proven ability to lead from the front.
Demonstrated success managing multi-crew teams across geographically dispersed locations and complex job sites.
Deep working knowledge of construction logistics, permitting, scheduling, and field safety practices.
Established relationships with field labor and subcontractor networks in the region are highly valued.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout PA, OH, WV, NY, and MD as needed.
Leadership grounded in humility, integrity, and the ability to earn respect in the field.
PMP or related technical certifications are a plus but not required—leadership and execution are what matter most.
