As the Vice President of Credit, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our client’s operations. Your expertise in credit underwriting, portfolio management, and leadership will be instrumental in safeguarding the bank’s assets while fostering responsible loan growth. In this multifaceted role, you will collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and customers to ensure accurate and timely processing of loan requests.

Focus:
Conduct comprehensive credit underwriting activities, including in-depth analysis of cash flows, tax returns, balance sheets, and income statements to assess creditworthiness. Maintain and update loan application databases throughout the underwriting process, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal departments such as appraisal, documentation, and legal teams, as well as external vendors like title companies. Ensure customer loan requests are processed accurately and in a manner that safeguards the bank’s interests. Oversee and manage a substantial credit portfolio, actively monitoring and assessing its performance. Implement strategies for risk mitigation and optimal portfolio growth.
Stay fully informed and well-versed in credit policies, procedures, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Apply this knowledge to guide responsible loan growth and ensure adherence to compliance standards. Provide expertise and mentorship in credit analysis, assisting in structuring competitive credit packages that meet the diverse needs of bank customers while protecting the bank and delivering fair returns to shareholders. Exhibit strong leadership skills, setting the standard for your team and promoting a culture of excellence. Foster an environment that encourages analytical thinking, accuracy, responsiveness, organization, and effective oral and written communication. Utilize your extensive experience in commercial and real estate underwriting to guide the underwriting process effectively, ensuring quality and efficiency in loan origination.
Skill Set:
Proven background in credit analysis, including cash flow analysis, tax return analysis, and balance sheet and income statement assessment. Demonstrated expertise in commercial and consumer underwriting. In-depth knowledge of credit policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively managing credit teams.
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Prior experience in overseeing a substantial credit portfolio.
