Our client is a wholesale leader providing energy solutions and services to both suppliers and end-users. They are looking to hire a Vice President & Managing Commercial Director to oversee their management teams and generate growth opportunities in commodity markets.
They will be targeting fuel industry businesses within petroleum, NGLs, and renewables. This role will be heavily focused on providing leadership and direction to upper-level management across all departments. The position will serve as a thought leader and problem solver both internally and for clients and business partners within the energy space. The Vice President & Managing Commercial Director will be responsible for directing commodity sales growth and supporting wholesale relationships.

• Role reports directly to the company president– high visibility within the company and team to make a big impact.
Focus:
• Take full ownership of solutions and sales strategy. Act as POC throughout the company to ensure alignment with business and leadership goals.
• Lead sales and management teams to work cross-functionally with trading, supply, and other internal teams.
• Understand and oversee the commodity business unit and the daily, physical trading and hedging that results from it.
• Facilitate and build upon industry relationships such as petroleum and NGL refiners, pipeline companies, and ethanol producers.
• Oversee compliance efforts relating to import/export regulations, and reporting requirements. Likewise with those of domestic fuels compliance and California carbon credit trading.
• Collaborate with other sales team leaders to create and analyze sales forecasts and reports.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies and market trends. Assist in pricing and product specs as market demands.
• Grow the company’s thriving book of business and identify arbitrage opportunities.
Skill Set:
• Strong team management skills with the ability to lead sales, business development, solutions engineering, and all other aspects of the internal support team.
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Strong background in trading, supply, and distribution of motor fuels and NGLs with a firm understanding of how midstream commodity markets work.
• Proven experience developing strategy and executing commercial plans.
• Industry experience and reputation in the energy space, a big plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in applicable field. Master’s a plus.
• 10+ years of sales and leadership experience in the energy space or related industry.
