Our client is a leader in the manufacturing of IoT components for mobile device security. They are looking for a Senior Technical Operations Manager to oversee the New Product Introduction initiatives of the production departments and guarantee that the hardware product development units adhere to industry-standard techniques to guarantee the products’ cost-effectiveness, dependability, quality, and feasibility for mass production.

The Senior Technical Operations Manager will work jointly with multifaceted teams throughout the product ideation, design, and implementation stages.

Focus:

Collaborate closely with the Product Design teams to offer Design for Manufacturing feedback and requirements. Specify input to enhance manufacturability and ensure optimal product performance during the design process.

Take charge of cross-functional teams to oversee pre-production builds and scale production lines for mass production. Ensure factory readiness for each development build by tracking and driving all necessary actions. Develop engineering solutions for process development and design of mechanical, electrical assembly, and test fixtures. Act as the main POC for third party partners. Support the Design teams during the development stages of new products by providing Design for Excellence guidance.

Streamline processes to reduce assembly and test times, thereby enhancing overall efficiency. Implement industry-standard manufacturing tools and methodologies like PFMEA, control plans, and SPC, to maintain quality standards and enhance process efficiency. Oversee technology transfers for new factories, monitor and report manufacturing performance, perform root cause analysis, and take corrective actions where necessary.

Skill Set:

Possess a minimum of 6-8 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment focused on electro-mechanical systems. Proven ability to solve complex production challenges. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the processes and systems involved in electronic assembly. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar specialty. Exhibit a strong understanding of principles and practices relevant to manufacturing engineering.

Show familiarity with mechanical and electrical specifications, Bill of Materials, and Engineering Change Orders. Customer-facing skills. Able to communicate highly technical solutions to non-technical audiences. Ambitious work ethic with the desire to get others engaged in the larger picture goal. Truly own their career path and want to strive for the best for the team. Proficient in managing factory operations or leading programs related to manufacturing(preferred). Have participated in product launches for consumer electronics (preferred).

Have worked with both domestic and overseas manufacturing partners (preferred). Skilled in utilizing 3D CAD modeling tools and experience with drawing modifications (preferred). Extensive expertise utilizing product lifecycle management tools such as Arena, Agile, etc. (preferred). Proficient in constructing, testing, altering, and fabricating samples, fixtures, and prototypes (preferred).
