Our client is a leader in the manufacturing of electronic components for mobile device security. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience and expertise in mechanical engineering to provide crucial support to cross-functional teams, oversee hands-on build processes, perform critical debugging and testing, and drive product development to completion and scaled production.

Focus:

Lead the design of embedded IoT products, leveraging your mechanical engineering expertise.

Conduct design reviews and maintain project oversight to ensure product development success. Develop and implement effective product testing strategies, including test automation. Thoroughly test and debug product models to meet quality standards. Collaborate closely with multiple departments to support product development for high-volume manufacturing. Manage and provide valuable feedback to team members, including mechanical engineers, embedded engineers, and software developers. Communicate challenges to senior management.

Drive projects to successful completion on a structured timeline. Offer support and mentorship to junior team members in a hands-on capacity.

Skill Set:

Bring over 7 years of electronic product development experience to the table. Possess expertise in end-to-end electronic engineering, encompassing production architecture, component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout.

Proven background in supporting high-volume manufacturing with a minimum of 3,000 units per year cycle. Previous experience in hands-on leadership or management roles is advantageous. Hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME); a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) is preferred. Proficient in circuit design using Altium. Well-versed in embedded system bring-up, verification, and system-level troubleshooting.

Demonstrated experience in leading and managing product development cycles; familiarity with Arena PLM tool is a plus. Strong skills in bench testing and automation, with an ability to identify and resolve system bugs. Experience with low-level assembly language. In-depth knowledge of various connection protocols, including I2C, SPI, USB, BT/BLE, Wi-Fi, and more.
