The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Focus:
Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
Maintain the general ledger system, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards. Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing procedures. Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Coordinate payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, company policies, and accurate recording of employee compensation. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations. Prepare for and assist with external audits and regulatory examinations. Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and long-term financial plans that align with the company’s mission and growth objectives.
Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes and internal controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Skill Set:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting or related field. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building positive working relationships.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
