Risk Analyst

Our client is a prominent financial institution, serving customers throughout the Midwest. To support their growth, they are looking to hire a Risk Analyst to support their Model Risk Management programs.

The Risk Analyst will assist with model validation activities and leverage their firm understanding in data, analytics, and statistics. They will work to identify and assess risk and report issues/findings to management in a timely manner.

Focus:

• Responsible for model data reporting and analysis through assumptions and theories.
• Conducts model validation activities and writes validation reports, as needed.
• Review financial risk as they pertain to the model and perform further analysis as needed.
• Ensure identified model risk issues are effectively remediated.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Model Risk Management policies and procedures.
• Conduct and develop quantitative and analytic models, assessments and/or applications in support of risk management efforts.
• Identify and recommend the internal and/or external resources to reach goals and manage day-to-day operational aspects of model projects.
• Stay continually appraised of status of risk reporting and communicate with stakeholders.

Skill Set:

• 0-3+ years of risk management and/or model validation experience.
• Master’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, business, or a related field.
• Experience in documenting business processes and leveraging data modeling and reporting tools (Tableau, SQL, Python etc.).
• Data reporting skills, including data mining, analytics, and statistics.
• Experience working with mortgage solutions, a plus.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques, preferred.
• Analytical thinker who is able to work independently and solve problems quickly as they arise.
• Excellent reporting and presentation skills a must. Ability to speak to stakeholders from all aspects from business and add value to decision-making.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Industry certifications (CFA, FRM) are a strong plus.
