Our client, a leading expert in the telecommunications space, is seeking a skilled Radio Frequency Technician to join their dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the optimization, maintenance, and repair of 2-way and wireless communications systems, including complex radio systems and 911 communications centers for their valued customers.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In order to effectively assist our public safety and first responder customers, technicians must be available for on-call duties, which may include overtime with short notice.

Focus:

• Perform system design, configuration, installation, maintenance, and repair of wireless communication systems, including DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), small cell, antenna/RF systems, and more.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to radio systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Program and optimize 2-way and wireless communication systems to ensure efficient and reliable performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of radio systems within customer environments.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the optimal placement of equipment for maximum coverage and performance.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of radio systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades and expansions, keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of radio systems.
• Document all activities, including system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and maintenance procedures.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols during installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure a secure working environment.

Skill Set:

• 3-5+ years of Journeyman-level experience as a Radio Technician or in a similar role, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of wireless communication systems, including DAS, small cell, antenna/RF systems, and their components.
• Proficiency in system design, configuration, troubleshooting, and programming of 2-way and wireless communication systems.
• Familiarity with complex radio systems and 911 communications centers is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Solid understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices for wireless communication systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision to ensure accurate installations and repairs.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Willingness to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills as required.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
