Our client is a local primary care provider that offers a one-stop shop for all health needs – from psychiatry to lab services, all on-site. They are hiring a Primary Care Physician to provide patients with an excellent quality of care throughout their health journey.

The Primary Care Physician will perform evaluations, gather clinical data, consult with the clinical team, and order appropriate tests. They will provide accurate and useful information, patient education, documentation – all in support of the management and treatment for all different types of care.

Focus:

• Perform patient evaluations and testing, render a diagnosis, and conduct routine follow up care as appropriate. Provide recommendations for course of treatment or prescribe medication as needed.
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals, medical facilities, and additional care such as physical therapy, psychological therapy, and rehabilitation programs.
• Communicate with collaborating physicians, specialists, and cross functional teams regarding patient care as a player/coach.

• Coordinate with interventional pain physicians, pharmacists, case managers, addiction specialists, alternative medicine, occupational therapy, physical therapy, etc.
• Formulate a treatment plan for patients, including recommendations for lifestyle changes to improve quality of life.
• Educate patient and family about any diagnosis and treatment options, including risks, benefits, and alternatives. Offer patients care and encouragement, and ensure they have an advocate.
• Monitor patients’ progress and keep records of treatments.
• Issue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicine.
• Comply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards.
• Perform all duties and services in full compliance with practice and regulatory requirements, such as National Patient Safety Goals, and State and Federal regulatory agencies.

Skill Set:

• Doctor of Medicine degree required, with a preferred 1+ years of experience in professional, post-educational practice for geriatric or adult care.
• Must be board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Knowledge of best practices, standards, and state and federal laws pertaining to medicine.
• Current DEA number for II-V controlled substances within the state of Florida a must.
• BLS certification required.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, patients, and the general public.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
