Our client is a leading manufacturer of building materials, offering top-of-the-line structural products. To maintain their success, they focus on product quality and product availability. They are seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to help continue their commitment to product quality, process efficiency, and machine reliability.
The PLC Controls Engineer will be a cornerstone in managing and improving the functionality of various advanced machinery and equipment on site. This includes playing a key role in the programming, troubleshooting, and continual improvement of robotics utilized within the organization.

Focus:
• Performs diagnosis, repair, and/or maintenance of production equipment, electrical systems, control drives, mills, furnaces, cranes, etc.
• Identify mechanical problems of production machinery for steel manufacturing systems.
• Repair work orders for part failure and perform basic care and maintenance of machinery.
• Maintain documentation including invoices, custom documents, BOL, and inventory.
• Support predictive as well as preventative troubleshooting.
• Assist with inventory checks and ordering parts and supplies needed for repairs.
• Understand and follow all established policies, procedures, and recognized practices for safety, health, and quality.
• Continue to support quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering or maintenance within an industrial setting.
• Strong background in heavy industrial PLC.
• Expertise in programming and troubleshooting PLCs and Robotics, specifically platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Fanuc.
• Knowledge of AC overhead cranes, DC Motors, and Control, as well as, Device Net, IP Over Ethernet, and Level 2 communication.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical blueprints and ladder logic.
• Strong familiarity with industrial equipment, repair methodologies, and plant operations.
• Excellent communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel to various company locations throughout the US as required.
