About the Role
A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support critical functions that ensure timely and accurate compensation for healthcare staff and administrative personnel. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong attention to detail and experience managing complex payroll processes in a healthcare setting.
As a key contributor, you will collaborate with HR, finance, and compliance teams to execute payroll operations, reconcile payroll data, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational policies. Your contributions will directly support workforce satisfaction and organizational compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for healthcare and administrative staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
Review and verify timesheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Coordinate with HR and department heads to ensure all pay-related transactions, such as new hires, terminations, and benefit deductions, are accurately reflected.
Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports for auditing and reporting purposes.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits deductions, and taxation with professionalism and confidentiality.
Ensure compliance with healthcare-related payroll regulations and standards, including FLSA, HIPAA, and internal audit requirements.
Assist with year-end processes including W-2 issuance, payroll reconciliations, and reporting.
Support the implementation of payroll system upgrades and process improvements.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within the healthcare industry.
Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, Workday) and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of relevant federal and state wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and healthcare payroll compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
