Our client is a non-profit healthcare facility offering top-notch, quality care within their local community. Due to their recent success and expansion, they are hiring a Patient Registration Representative. This person will play a critical role in the hospital’s patient intake process. As the first point of contact for patients, the Patient Registration Representative is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient registration and admission of patients into the hospital.
The Patient Registration Representative is a vital part of the hospital team, contributing to the overall patient experience by ensuring accurate and efficient patient registration and intake.
*This role requires flexibility for shifts as well as the ability to work Saturdays.
*The Patient Registration Representative will be working 12-hour shifts
(7:00 am – 7:00 pm or 10:00 am – 10:00 pm)

Focus:
Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and enter it into the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system. Verify insurance coverage and benefits and communicate information to patients and other hospital departments as necessary. Schedule patient appointments for various hospital services, including outpatient procedures, diagnostic tests, and surgeries, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and documented accurately in the EHR system. Provide patients with information about hospital policies, procedures, and services. Educate patients on their rights and responsibilities, as well as any required pre-visit preparation, such as fasting or medication restrictions.
Follow all hospital and regulatory guidelines for patient registration, including patient privacy and confidentiality requirements (e.g., HIPAA). Maintain accurate and complete records of patient interactions and transactions in the EHR system. Generate and distribute appropriate reports and documents related to patient registration and admissions. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, their families, and other hospital staff. Respond to patient inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Resolve any issues related to patient registration or admission or escalate them to the appropriate personnel for resolution. Collaborate with other hospital departments, including nursing, finance, and billing, to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate billing and reimbursement.
Skill Sets:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in healthcare, customer service, or related field preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and EHR systems.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional customer service skills, with a patient-centric approach. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Proficient in using computers and other office equipment.
