Our client is a leader in the networks and connectivity space with over 15 years of history providing first-rate services. They are hiring a Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to oversee the operations of their network infrastructure.
The successful candidate will lead a team of network engineers and technicians in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining our network connectivity and performance. The NOC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the network operations center runs smoothly and efficiently, providing timely and effective support to internal and external customers.

Focus:
• Manage and lead the daily operations of the NOC team to ensure the network infrastructure is available and performing at optimal levels.
• Must be able to make network related decisions accurately.
• Will be responsible for network daily operations including change management, customer support, new circuit provisioning, service affecting maintenance events, etc.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential network issues, ensuring that SLAs are met or exceeded.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that network changes are made with minimal impact to their operations.
• Develop and maintain operational procedures and policies for the NOC team, ensuring that they are adhered to and updated as necessary.
• Implement network security best practices and policies, ensuring that the network is secure and compliant with industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the NOC team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Host daily scrum style meetings with the NOC/engineering team at the beginning of each day to outline what occurred/didn’t occur the day before and the plan for the current day.
• Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure that the company receives high-quality services and support.
• Prepare and present reports on network performance and metrics to senior management, providing recommendations for improvements and changes.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
• 10+ years of managerial experience within the service provider/network/IT realm.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
• Experience managing and leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience with ITIL and/or other IT service management frameworks.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
