NICET Certified (I/II/III) Highway Inspector
A dynamic infrastructure and safety consulting firm is seeking several NICET-certified Highway Inspector to support key transportation infrastructure projects throughout central New Jersey. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of roadway and highway projects across the state by upholding the highest standards in safety, compliance, and quality. Focus:
Conduct field inspections and assessments of highway and roadway construction to ensure compliance with applicable codes, engineering specifications, and industry standards.
Perform material and site testing in accordance with NICET protocols and DOT regulations.
Identify non-conforming work and assist in developing resolutions with project managers and contractors.
Maintain detailed inspection logs, generate daily reports, and document test results with accuracy and clarity.
Ensure all project documentation is properly completed and submitted in accordance with state agency requirements.
Partner with engineering and construction teams to provide on-site support, technical expertise, and quality guidance.
Support junior inspectors and field personnel through mentorship and knowledge-sharing.
Stay current on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and updates in inspection standards.
Skill Set:
Active NICET Certification in Highway Construction (Level I, II, or III).
Proven field experience in highway or transportation infrastructure inspection.
Solid understanding of federal, state, and local roadway construction codes and standards.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional project teams.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between work sites across central New Jersey.
