Our client is a top provider of wireless and communication structure, globally. Their robust service offerings include 5G, Wi-Fi, fiber, public safety, connectivity, and telecom solutions. They are hiring a Network Design Engineer to support construction network projects.
The Network Design Engineer will be responsible for hands on technical support, drafting, leadership, project management, and overall design of DAS, public Wi-Fi, and fiber network components. They will be focused on designing advanced communication systems to meet specific project needs.

Focus:
• Perform site surveys to evaluate location and identify requirements for system design, including data collection.
• Design, engineer, analyze, commission, configure, and test internet projects for a variety of venues and transportation environments.
• Design/draft submission packages using AutoCAD for new network infrastructures to complete project contracts.
• Define, plan, and gather requirements for new products and/or product updates.
• Develop and maintain product drawings, process documentation, and related materials.
• Collaborate with ISP project management team to create BOMs, budget, scope, and timeline.
• Collaborate with developers, contractors, field technicians, utilities providers, contracting teams, design engineering team, and vendors as needed.
• Give advice to management on implementation strategy.
• Provide hands-on technical expertise for maintaining, troubleshooting, and turning-up DAS, Wi-Fi, and fiber optic networks and nodes.
• Ensure safe work environment for all field personnel.
Skill Set:
• 5-7+ years of related design/engineering experience in the ISP space.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, preferred. Bachelor’s degree will require an additional 5+ years of hand-on experience.
• Construction background and experience working with the telecom, Wi-Fi, and DAS networks.
• Hands-on prototyping and design experience.
• Proven leadership ability to support teams and work cross-functionally in related projects.
• In-depth ability to read and understand construction blueprints, RF designs, railway and transportation systems, and project specifications.
• Technical stack:
• AutoCAD drafting/design
• SolidWorks 3D modeling
• Site survey tools and processes
• Network equipment assembly
• Indoor/outdoor/structured cabling
• AC/DC power distribution/conversion/backup, a plus
• Background in transportation design industry, a plus.
• Superb time management skills and be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
• Strong skills in collaboration and communication.
