The National Sales Manager will be responsible for crafting and executing a long-term strategic plan to drive growth within the retail sector for a manufacturing company. This role will focus on enhancing sales, increasing volume, and boosting profit margins across selected distribution channels. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker with a successful background in sales and account management within the retail industry.

Focus:
Act as the main liaison for the brand, managing and expanding relationships with key national accounts, including major home improvement retailers and wholesale distributors.
Represent the organization at industry trade shows and conferences to foster brand presence and network with key stakeholders.
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue, profitability, and volume goals.
Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and explore potential new business avenues.
Lead negotiations with assigned accounts, focusing on contracts, promotions, and product placements.
Provide strategic input to the Business Unit Manager on pricing strategies and initiatives.
Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure that product offerings align with customer needs and market demands, while meeting delivery schedules and budget constraints.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to spot opportunities and potential risks, providing actionable insights to the Business Unit Manager.
Prepare and deliver regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to the Business Unit Manager.
Leverage internal and external reporting tools to track and analyze account performance, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent communication and prompt response to inquiries from key stakeholders.
Skill Set:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
Demonstrated success in sales and account management within the retail sector.
In-depth understanding of the retail landscape and consumer behavior trends.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with major retail chains and wholesale distributors.
Knowledge of retail merchandising and supply chain management practices.
Background in marketing and brand management.
