Our client is a non-profit healthcare facility offering top-notch, quality care within their local community. Due to their recent success and expansion, they are hiring an Insurance Eligibility Specialist to verify patient’s policy coverage for healthcare services.
The Insurance Eligibility Specialist will collaborate with all relevant parties to resolve insurance concerns prior to patients receiving medical care. This individual will utilize their previous insurance eligibility knowledge to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care. This is a contract to hire position.

Focus:
Responsible for reviewing insurance claims, verifying insurance coverage, handling billing discrepancies, and assisting in patient account questions/disputes. Provide auditors, billers, posters, and other insurance collections specialists with assistance on outstanding claims payments. Use various tools and methods to process and trace insurance claims. Communicate with patients about their insurance and additional payment information. Maintain excellent documentation for all activities. Work closely with other hospital teams to ensure patients receive accurate information. Monitor updates to insurance regulations and advise hospital personnel when needed.
Skill Sets:
1+ years of experience assessing patient eligibility and verifying insurance in a healthcare setting. Must possess a high school diploma or education equivalent. Strong understanding of medical and insurance terminology and billing procedures. Experience with processing payments, reconciliations, and claims. Proficiency with EMR and medical billing systems. Strong understanding of medical and insurance terminology. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and effectively communicate instruction. Quick learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
