Our client is a non-profit healthcare facility offering top-notch, quality care within their local community. Due to their recent success and expansion, they are hiring a Hospital Billing Specialist to support medical claims and payment management.

The Hospital Billing Specialist is responsible for assessments regarding billing claims. In addition to documenting claims, they will review medical records for completeness and accuracy and assist the billings team with reconciliations and insurance issues. This is a contract to hire position.

Focus:

Handle billing statements, and patient account questions/disputes. Responsible for the processing of insurance claims, verifying insurance coverage. Contact patient insurance companies regarding outstanding claims and complete necessary steps for appeals on denied claims. File claims in a timely manner and follow up/resolve any no-response or rejected claims. Identify and correct compliance issues, documentation shortfalls, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.

Identify improvement opportunities and recommend workable solutions supported by cost benefit analysis. Prepare reports, statements, and analysis to assist teams in assessing risk and strategy. Maintain excellent documentation for all activities.

Skill Sets:

2+ years of medical billing experience. Experience with payments, reconciliations, and claims; UB-04 experience required. Proficiency with EMR and medical billing systems. Strong understanding of medical and insurance terminology. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and effectively communicate instruction.

Quick learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
