This role involves the thorough inspection of highway projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and government regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in highway construction, specifically in concrete and asphalt paving, and hold the necessary certifications to maintain quality and safety standards on site.

Focus:

• Conduct thorough inspections of highway construction projects, focusing on concrete and asphalt paving operations, to ensure adherence to design specifications, government standards, and quality requirements.
• Perform quality assurance on construction materials and processes, documenting and reporting any discrepancies or non-conformance to project standards.
• Verify contractor compliance with approved construction practices and assist in resolving on-site issues that may impact project quality, safety, or timeline.
• Collect and record accurate data for concrete and asphalt construction activities, maintaining logs of all project inspections and test results for audit and compliance purposes.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure project specifications are met, communicating any observed issues or improvements to uphold quality standards.

Skill Set:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in highway or infrastructure inspection or related construction roles.
• NICET Certification: Possession of the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) certification in Construction or Highway Materials, or a related field.
• Concrete Construction Certification: American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field-Testing Technician certification.
• Asphalt Paving Certification: Certification from the Society of Asphalt Technologists (SAT) as an Asphalt Paving Construction Technologist.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations concerning highway construction and materials testing.
• Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols, including OSHA regulations, with demonstrated commitment to job site safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly related to construction materials and testing processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions
