Our client is a rapidly expanding manufacturer of nutritional supplements. They are committed to providing their clients with top-tier vitamin supplements and establishing enduring partnerships with them. They are hiring a Food Innovation Scientist to utilize their R&D expertise and develop processes to deliver the highest level of quality and consistency for products to their customer.
The Food Innovation Scientist will work hands-on in the lab to develop and launch nutrition products. In addition to product development, they will have the authority to drive improvements within manufacturing and production.

Focus:
Drive R&D and development efforts for product production and health supplements. Design and implement plans to research, formulate, characterize, and test new products and ingredients, and work cross functionally with internal teams. Conduct research on potential ingredients with specific physical properties, such as solubility, to support different form factors. Take products through full development lifecycle, from bench to qualification, to scaling, manufacturing, and commercialization. Support QA efforts to test, analyze, and troubleshoot new products as part of the manufacturing and scaling up process. Work with process engineering and production to ensure optimization of processes and existing products. Act as a subject matter expert on food science, including formulation, testing, manufacturing, and applications. Collaborate with technical team and other departments regarding major product development projects. Coach and mentor junior team members; act as technical leader within group. Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends regarding ingredients, processes, and regulations.
Skill Set:
5+ years of experience in food manufacturing/production, R&D environment. BS in Engineering, Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, or equivalent. Master’s preferred. Expertise in food science and the product manufacturing process with familiarity of confectionary capsules, ingredient functionality, microbiology, Q&A principles, and market research practices. Demonstrated success formulating tasty food products with a concise ingredient list that comply with specific standards on a large-scale basis. Strong communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to R&D problems. Excellent writing and organization skills and can effectively handle intricate technical details.
