Our client is a leading manufacturer in the packaging industry, supporting clients in the food/beverage, retail, and industrial spaces globally. Due to the growth and expansion of the Extrusion Business Unit, they are looking to hire an Extrusion Operator to join their team

The Extrusion Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion equipment to produce high-quality packaging products. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in extrusion processes and equipment operation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to ensuring product quality and operational efficiency.

Focus:

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion equipment to produce packaging products according to specifications.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and speed, to maintain product quality and maximize production efficiency.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet customer specifications and perform corrective actions when necessary.
• Collaborate with the Extrusion Manager and production team to identify process improvements and implement corrective measures.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Document production data, equipment maintenance, and quality control records accurately and timely.
• Train and assist new employees in extrusion processes and equipment operation as needed.

Skill Set:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably directly in extrusion.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Knowledge of extrusion processes, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with different types of plastic materials and their properties.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
