Estimator 1

Our client, a leading electrical contracting firm with a history of delivering complex and innovative electrical systems across various industries, is seeking an Estimator 1 to join their team.

As an Estimator 1, you will support the senior estimator/estimating team in developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects, particularly in the higher education and hospital sectors. This role requires a motivated individual with a strong foundational knowledge of electrical contracting and the ability to handle various aspects of the estimating process.

Focus:

• Assist in the preparation and development of comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects.
• Review and analyze the scope of work specified within project proposals, ensuring that estimates cover all necessary aspects of the project.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify and address deficiencies or questions in the cost estimation process.
• Utilize department-specific estimating software, maintaining accuracy, reliability, and completeness in all tasks.
• Conduct detailed estimate take-offs and maintain an understanding of electrical codes and standards.

Skill Set:

• 3 + years of experience in the electrical subcontractor field and a high school diploma/GED, or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with no work experience required.
• Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/plans and specifications.
• Must be willing and able to work 5 days a week onsite.
