Our client is a leading manufacturer of building materials, offering top-of-the-line structural products. To maintain their success, they focus on product quality and product availability. They are looking for an Director of Planning to lead the production strategy in order to meet objectives.
The Director of Planning will be responsible for production process efficiencies, staff, product quality assurance, and promoting safety. This person should be skilled in leadership, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting manufacturing machines/equipment.

Focus:
Responsible for overall strategy for day-to-day operations of production team to include safety, quality, efficiencies, and meeting customer expectations. Act as a catalyst for change while standardizing KPI’s, training and leadership procedures, and performing assessments of productivity. Facilitate communication of goals and changes between upper management and warehouse staff, working cross-functionally with other internal teams. Build structure for internal programs through team management including budget, workflow, scheduling, reporting, and more. Align internal employees and outside resources and partners with safety processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Oversee production support including equipment maintenance, scheduling, and quality. Improve operational overhead through cost-saving initiatives, inventory control, and streamlining warehouse operations and administrative processes. Organize proper trainings and ensure safety standards and production compliance is met.
Skill Set:
7+ years of technical experience in warehousing, manufacturing, and industrial engineering. Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, required. Master’s degree, a strong plus. Demonstrated experience managing and designing daily operations of a manufacturing environment and supporting team. Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize, schedule, and lead to ensure completion of tasks with quality and productivity as the goal. Proficiency in computer systems and MS Office applications. Ambitious work ethic with the desire to get others engaged in the larger picture goal. Excellent training, communication, and presentation skills.
