Our client is a rapidly growing Ethernet provider with a strong presence in the broadband, unified communications, and managed services sectors. They are dedicated to addressing the challenges of insufficient fiber coverage in major urban areas. To further strengthen our client’s position as a leader in the industry, we are seeking a Vice President of Network Engineering with expertise in Fixed Wireless, IP/Ethernet, and SD-WAN technologies.

The Vice President of Network Engineering will play a pivotal role in our client’s network infrastructure and technology strategy. This executive leader will be responsible for designing and managing a robust network infrastructure, particularly focused on Fixed Wireless, IP/Ethernet, and SD-WAN technologies. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will drive technical excellence, innovation, and scalability across the company’s network operations.

Focus:

Craft and execute an all-encompassing network strategy that resonates with our client’s expansion aspirations, making certain that Fixed Wireless, IP/Ethernet, and SD-WAN technologies take center stage in shaping our network infrastructure.

Lead a team of network engineers and technical professionals, setting the direction and standards for network design, operations, and maintenance. Oversee the design, configuration, and optimization of our client’s network infrastructure, with a focus on Fixed Wireless deployments, IP/Ethernet solutions, and SD-WAN deployments. Establish and maintain rigorous quality assurance practices to ensure network reliability, performance, and scalability. Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to evaluate and select the most suitable equipment and solutions for the network, negotiating contracts and agreements. Manage the network engineering budget and allocate resources effectively to support network expansion and maintenance activities.

Ensure that network security protocols and compliance requirements are met, implementing best practices for safeguarding data and infrastructure. Continuously monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, implementing innovative solutions to enhance the performance and capabilities of the network. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Pre-Sales Engineering, and Product Development, to align network capabilities with customer demands and market needs. Provide regular reports and updates to the executive team, showcasing network performance, improvements, and future plans.

Skill Set:

A minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering, with a proven track record in Fixed Wireless, IP/Ethernet, and SD-WAN technologies. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams. In-depth knowledge of Fixed Wireless technologies, IP/Ethernet protocols, SD-WAN deployment, and experience with network design and optimization.

A strong understanding of the business implications of network decisions, with the ability to align network strategies with company goals. Experience in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and procurement processes. Familiarity with network security and compliance standards, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of security. A passion for technology innovation and the ability to identify and implement cutting-edge solutions. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, while an advanced degree is a plus.
