Our client is a leading nationwide telecom integrator specializing in carrier-grade small cell design and implementation. They are seeking a Director of Engineering with extensive expertise in the broadband cable industry, specifically in managing Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks. The role demands a unique blend of technical prowess, strategic insight, and operational management. Focus:
• Lead a team of professionals within the business unit dedicated to CATV and HFC network operations, aligning efforts to meet customer expectations and project timelines.
• Oversee and manage all stages of the design and deployment process, ensuring the quality and integrity of data at all phases.
• Support internal teams, working collaboratively with operations, field resources, and sales teams to align operational strategies and field requirements.
• Utilize knowledge of cable industry platforms, tools, and operations management procedures to facilitate smooth operations.
• Ensure safety measures are incorporated into daily work activities and foster a culture of safety and excellence within the team.
• Manage P&L and participate in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and documentation.
• Organize proper training sessions for employees and ensure safety standards and production compliance are met.
• Travel to work sites as necessary to meet with field resources and customers.
Skill Set:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technological, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in CATV-related hybrid fiber-coaxial networking, design, and systems.
• Must have experience providing vendor/contractor services directly to Comcast (Engineering, construction, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of industry platforms, tools, and processes, with a familiarity of inside/outside plant equipment, design, and construction techniques.
• Proven leadership skills, with experience growing teams and managing relationships with industry professionals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to influence others.
• Experience with CAD, field engineering, estimating, bid, and proposal processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large regional or national operations.
• Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, cost estimation, and profit & loss analysis.
• Deep understanding of safety protocols and quality assurance processes within the construction industry.
• Ability to identify potential challenges, devise effective solutions, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
